Flametree's Yaqui, a great addition to the future of the Old Family Rednose Line. Yaqui was the alfa dog of this litter. But he never bullied, he is laid back and calm but when prompted is like an avenging angel. All his litter mates witnessed his wrath when threading on his path.

Yaqui is named after the Yaqui Nation, native Americans that have tradionally lived in northerm Mexico and southern Arizona. The Yaqui nation are known  as a proud rightious and couragous people that were never conquerd by the Toltec or the Aztec empire. The Yaqui also fought and held off the Apache for hundreds of years and were the equal if not the superior Warriors. The Spanish tried but were  never able to conquer the Yaquis.  The Mexicans only defeated them  after a hundred years and then through treachery and a policy of slavery and genocide. But the Yaquis survived and are a thriving Nation, I honour them

Like the Yaqui nation the American Pitbull Terrier has faced and endured even with a policy of Species genocide inflicted on them by the ignorant. The line will continue, we will make it so.

Koda will be missed,he was my guardian, protector and friend. I thought Koda and I would enjoy retirement together. He will be difficult to replace his loss is be a great blow to the OFRN line.

BREEDER:  JOHNSON'S PIT
OWNER:  FLAMETREE KENNELS
REGISTRATION #:  ADBA/UKC/AADR Reg.
SEX:   MALE
COLOR:  DARK RED RED NOSE
CHAINWEIGHT:   58 lbs

Koda is a perfect speciman of Old Family Rednose. I acquired him from Tommy Johnson of Johnson Pits (Tennessee) before he passed. Tommy Johnson was a wonderful man, always willing to share his  knowlege on the OFRN strain. I never tired of his tales and his ideas for future  breedings of his OFRN.  I was so disappointed when I learned the Tommy was going to die, we had planned to do so many good things with these old red dogs. Please click on the link above to view Koda's  Pedigrees in detail. Study Koda's pedigree to see just how my Koda was bred. When I first acquired Koda I knew he was a gem, he was so friendly and quiet, (Takoda means "Friend to everyone" in Sioux) traits that are greatly appreciated today. Unlike the Jeep, Bolio and Mayday dogs that I own, the OFRN are so silent, he's more like a cat than a dog. I've noticed that the OFRN's are better watch and guard dogs than other lines, why that is I don't know. If the day ever came that I had to give up these dogs but could keep one,,,it would be Takoda.
